A deadly wreck in Conemaugh Township, Somerset County, last evening. Police believe 81-year-old James Larison of Johnstown may have had a medical emergency when he crashed his car head-on into a tree along Route 403. His wife, 70-year-old Maryanne, died in the wreck. James was taken to Johnstown’s Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center.


Governor Tom Corbett is confirming that three Pennsylvanians were on the flight from Cleveland to Dallas with the nurse who now has Ebola. Corbett says they are not showing symptoms of the disease and have not been quarantined but will be monitored for three weeks. According to the governor, there are no confirmed Ebola cases in Pennsylvania, and the risk to the public is low.

Police say 32-year-old Michael Kunowsky of Cresson is due at a preliminary hearing today after assaulting a police officer at the Penn Avenue Bar in Sankertown Saturday night. Cops eventually had to taser Kunowsky, who is also accused of breaking windows, making threats, and assaulting a bartender. Damages are estimated at several hundred dollars. Kunowsky remains in the Cambria County Jail.


Johnstown police are trying to find three men who have been targeting the elderly. They pose as contractors – two of the men distract the homeowner while the third sneaks into the house stealing cash, jewelry, and other valuable items. The suspects are believed to be driving a newer, possibly brown, four-door pick-up truck. Anyone with information is asked to call police.
