The Goodwill Good Samaritan of the Week is 14-year-old Bradley Hoffman, of Berlin. As part of his 4-H service project, Bradley, with the help of his parents Joyce and Bob, is harvesting cow embryos and selling them, then donating the profits to 96 Key’s 12 Wishes of Christmas program, which helps disadvantaged locals have a happy holiday. So far this year, the Hoffmans have raised over $2,500.
The Hoffmans, who often listen to the radio in the barn on their dairy farm, say they were inspired to donate to the program because it is such a worthwhile cause and it also helps put their own lives in perspective. “You think you have it bad,” says Joyce, “and then you hear these stories where people are truly struggling and you realize your problems aren’t so tough.”
The Good Samaritan of the Week is brought to you by financial support from Goodwill Industries of the Conemaugh Valley. Nominate your friends and your family now, you can do that online below as well or by calling 255-4186.
