he Goodwill Good Samaritan of the Week is the Max Deitle Foundation. Last August, 15-month-old Max fell into the family pool, then was life-flighted to Children’s Hospital. Although heroic efforts were made to save his life, Max passed away. The Max Deitle Foundation was created to raise money to provide volunteer fire departments with much needed pediatric rescue equipment. Many emergency response teams only carry adult-sized equipment which needs to be modified for use on children patients.
In honor of Max’s birthday, the non-profit is holding the 1st Annual Max Deitle Memorial 5K walk/run on May 3 at the Forest Hills Middle School Cross Country Track. For more information on how you can be involved, visit them on Facebook HERE
The Good Samaritan of the Week is made possible through support from Goodwill Industries of the Conemaugh Valley. If you know an individual or group who should be recognized for the volunteer service they do, visit our website or call 255-4186.
