Weekend Box Office

"The Conjuring" spooked the competition at the box office this weekend.  The low-budget horror flick starring Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson brought in an estimated 41-point-five-million dollars in the U.S. and Canada.  It easily beat last week's number one, "Despicable Me 2," which earned 25-point-one-million in its third week in theaters.  But the rest of this weekend's newcomers were no match either.  "Turbo" finished third with 21-point-five-million, while "Red 2" came in at number five with 18-point-five-million.  Ryan Reynolds and Jeff Bridges' sci-fi comedy "R.I.P.D." earned a disappointing 12-point-eight-million dollars and finished in seventh place.
