The government shutdown is over, but during the shutdown a cleanup was underway at the Environmental Protection Agency. A memo was issued by EPA administrator Gina McCarthy that touched on several topics including cleaning the refrigerator. The Washington Post published the memo that stated: "during the shutdown, we made every effort to water accessible plants. And of necessity, the refrigerators were emptied of all perishable foodstuffs last week. The oldest food found? A can of Campbell's soup from 1997! So please, remember it is everyone's responsibility to keep the refrigerator's clean." The people at Campbell's responded by saying that a canned product from them usually lasts from 1 to 2 years. Whoever owned that can of soup should have consumed it during the second term of Bill Clinton?!?
