A WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FOR THE REGION.  THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IS PREDICTING SNOW ACCUMULATION OF UP TO 14-INCHES IN SOME HIGHER ELEVATIONS. THE STORM'S INTENSITY IS EXPECTED TO CONTINUE TO WEAKEN THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT, AS THE SYSTEM MOVES AWAY FROM THE REGION.

ALCOHOL IS SUSPECTED IN THE TUESDAY ACCIDENT THAT LEFT TWO PEOPLE DEAD IN INDIANA COUNTY.  CURTIS LEE KUNKLE LOST CONTROL OF HIS OLDER MODEL FORD AND STRUCK A TREE OFF ROUTE 403.  THE 49-YEAR-OLD AND HIS PASSENGER LEEANN KOMLOSKY WERE FOUND DEAD BY A PASSERBY.  NEITHER WAS WEARING A SEATBELT AND TOXICOLOGY TESTS ARE PENDING.

IN CAMBRIA COUNTY COURT, TWO MEN WHO WERE CONVICTED IN JANUARY OF SHOOTING DEATH OF J-QUAN LEWIS AT THE OAKHURST HOMES IN 2011 … HAVE BEEN SENTENCED.  MARQUIS NEAL WAS SENTENCED TO 25 TO 50 YEARS IN JAIL. ANTHONY HARVEY WAS SENTENCED TO SEVEN YEARS, 10 MONTHS TO 25 YEARS IN JAIL.

SIX NEWS IS REPORTING THAT THE FAMILY OF A YOUNG GIRL WHO WAS KILLED BY A PICKUP TRUCK THAT WAS BACKING UP … IS NOW SUING THE FORD MOTOR COMPANY.  2 YEAR OLD AUTUMN DANCHANKO DIED NEAR EBENSBURG …SIXTEEN MONTHS AGO … WHEN THE TRUCK WAS BACKING UP AND SHE WAS ACCIDENTALLY HIT..  THE FAMILY, IN THE WRONGFUL DEATH LAWSUIT, SAYS IF THE FORD  F-150 WAS CONSTRUCTED PROPERLY WITH A BACKUP SENSOR OR A CAMERA, THE TRAGIC ACCIDENT MAY NOT HAVE HAPPENED.

MARQUIS NEAL OF PHILADELPHIA WAS CONVICTED IN THE 2011 SHOOTING DEATH OF J-QUAN LEWIS OUTSIDE JOHNSTOWN’S OAKHURST HOMES HOUSING PROJECT.  NOW … A CAMBRIA COUNTY JUDGE HAS SENTENCED HIM TO 25 TO 50 YEARS IN A STATE PRISON AND HIS ATTORNEY IS PLANNING AN APPEAL.   NEAL’S COUSIN, ANTHONY HARVEY, DROVE THE GET-AWAY CAR. HIS SENTENCE IS 7 TO 25 YEARS.

 A CAMBRIA COUNTY JUDGE HAS SENTENCED 42 YEAR OLD METHADONE PATIENT MICHAEL SHERWOOD OF NORTHERN CAMBRIA TO 5 TO 12 YEARS IN A STATE PRISON.  HE PLEADED GUILTY TO HOMICIDE BY VEHICLE WHILE UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF A CONTROLLED SUB­STANCE AND OTHER CHARGES.  IN SEPTEMBER 2010, SHERWOOD’S PICKUP STRUCK A CAR ON NICKTOWN HILL IN NORTHERN CAMBRIA, KILLING LOIS DAVIS OF ALVERDA. HER HUSBAND, RICHARD, DIED 2 WEEKS LATER.

THE BODIES OF A 53 YEAR OLD MAN AND WOMAN WERE FOUND LAST SUNDAY INSIDE A HOUSE ON HUCKLEBERRY STREET IN TYRONE…NOW POLICE HAVE IDENTIFIED THEM AS MONA REDMAN AND RICHARD HARTMAN.   THE BLAIR COUNTY CORONER’S OFFICE CONDUCTED AUTOPSIES AND AUTHORITIES ARE NOW WAITING FOR TOXICOLOGY REPORTS.   THE MANNER AND CAUSE OF DEATH HAVE NOT BEEN DETERMINED.
