JOHNSTOWN POLICE SAY THEY FOUND TWO PEOPLE THEY IDENTIFIED AS “SQUATTERS” AT A HOME ALONG CLOVER STREET IN MOXHAM.  POLICE WENT THERE TO INVESTIGATE A STOLEN MOTORCYCLE AND THE MAN THEY WERE LOOKING FOR RAN AWAY.  HE WAS WANTED ON WARRANTS FOR OTHER CRIMES.  THE WOMAN WAS ARRESTED.

IN ELK COUNTY … ABOUT 550 BABY PHEASANTS … JUST A FEW DAYS OLD … WERE KILLED IN A BARN FIRE.  IT HAPPENED AT A BARN ALONG KYLER CORNERS ROAD IN FOX TOWNSHIP.  THE BIRDS WERE BEING RAISED FOR THE FOX TOWNSHIP SPORTSMAN’S CLUB’S YOUTH HUNTING PROGRAM.  THE FIRE IS NOT CONSIDERED SUSPICIOUS.  IT DID CAUSE ABOUT 100-THOUSAND DOLLARS WORTH OF DAMAGE.

BIRD WATCHERS AND ECOLOGISTS ARE EXCITED ABOUT THE BIRTH OF A BALD EAGLE IN PITTSBURGH.  THE EAGLET IS INCREASINGLY ATTRACTING ATTENTION ALONG THE ALLEGHENY PASSAGE TRAIL.  OBSERVERS ARE REMINDED TO STAY AT LEAST A THOUSAND FEET AWAY FROM THE BIRDS.  HARASSING A NEST IS A FEDERAL OFFENSE.  KILLING A BALD EAGLE IS PUNISHABLE WITH UP TO TEN YEARS IN PRISON.

IN UNIONTOWN, FAYETTE COUNTY … A MAN WHO CLAIMS TO BE THE "UNIONTOWN NINJA" IS IN CUSTODY.  POLICE SAID 29-YEAR-OLD JUSTIN JELLOTS WAS BROUGHT IN FOR QUESTIONING ON AN UNRELATED MATTER WHEN HE CONFESSED TO A MASKED ATTACK IN EARLY APRIL.  JELLOTS REPORTEDLY TOLD INVESTIGATORS HE WAS DRESSED IN BLACK AND CAMOUFLAGE WITH MARINE PANTS WHEN HE COMMITTED THE ROBBERY.

STATE POLICE IN CLEARFIELD COUNTY HAVE JUST RELEASED DETAILS ABOUT A SERIOUS MOTORCYCLE CRASH THAT HAPPENED SATURDAY ON THE JANESVILLE PIKE.  TROOPERS SAY 63 YEAR OLD MICHAEL BROOKE OF CANADA WAS UNFAMILIAR WITH THE ROAD AND UNDER COMPENSATED ON A LEFT CURVE. HIS BIKE RAN ONTO THE BERM, THEN FELL OVER AND SLID ABOUT 60 FEET INTO A TREE. BROOKE WAS THROWN ABOUT 20 FEET. HE WAS TAKEN TO ALTOONA REGIONAL TRAUMA CENTER.

30 YEAR OLD JOSHUA MOTT OF RICHFIELD WAS FLOWN TO ALTOONA REGIONAL TRAUMA CENTER ON MEMORIAL DAY AFTER THE CAR HE WAS RIDING IN CRASHED ALONG ROUTE 35 IN DUBLIN TOWNSHIP, HUNTINGDON COUNTY.   

STATE POLICE SAY 30 YEAR OLD KRISTIN MOTT RAN A STOP SIGN AT THE INTERSECTION WITH ROUTE 641. HER CAR COLLIDED WITH A PICKUP DRIVEN BY 70 YEAR OLD ELMER MARTIN OF LEOLA.  THE MOTT’S CAR THEN HIT AN EMBANKMENT AND A UTILITY POLE.  BOTH DRIVERS HAD JUST MINOR INJURIES.
