Police are reportedly saying that Michael Jackson's daughter did not want to die, despite what they first called a "suicide attempt." TMZ reports Los Angeles County law enforcement sources say Paris Jackson wanted attention. One told the celebrity gossip website that the 15-year-old's call to a suicide hotline is strong evidence "she wanted to be saved." The late pop superstar's daughter reportedly cut herself with a meat cleaver before calling the hotline yesterday. TMZ reports she was conscious when EMTs arrived and she didn't argue or struggle when they put her on a stretcher to take her to the hospital. A statement from the Jackson family says "Paris is physically fine and getting appropriate medical attention."
Paris' father, the King of Pop, died of a drug overdose four years ago at age 50. His doctor was found guilty of manslaughter for not monitoring the entertainer after giving him a powerful sedative.
