Have you ever heard a song and you can't get it out of your mind no matter how hard you try? You hear a song like "YMCA" or "Who Let the Dogs Out" and all day long you find yourself being trapped as you hear it in your head. Dr. James Kellaris of the University of Cincinnati has studied the phenomenon for years. He says that the "brain itch" is caused by something called an "earworm." That earworm is caused by reptitive lyrics and a catchy rhythm. Unfortunately, its novelty songs that cause this to happen to us. Some of those from the past 20 years include: "I'm Too Sexy", "Mmmbop", "Tubthumping" "Who Let the Dogs Out" and "Mambo No. 5"....
