A young boy's lost bicycle has led to a unique piece of natural roadside art on Washington state's Vashon Island, over 50 years later. In 1954, Helen Puz had been recently widowed when she received the bike as a gift from someone in the community. She said her son Don who was eight at the time seemed like a perfect fit for the bike. But it seems Don wasn't too crazy about riding around on a girl's bike and told his mother he lost the bike.
Decades later Helen now 99 found out what happened to her son's bike when she read in the local newspaper that the bike had been found embedded in a tree. The tree had grown around the bike. Its now a roadside marvel.
