The sudden death of "Glee" star Cory Monteith has left show producers grappling with the challenge of how to address the loss of the actor on the series. Monteith's character, Finn Hudson, has been a lead character on the show since "Glee's" debut in 2009. Production for the next season on the musical series was scheduled to begin at the end of this month with a season premiere date set for September 19th. Fox has not commented on whether the production date will be moved in the wake of Monteith's death.
The 31-year-old actor entered rehab earlier this year to address substance abuse issues. He did not appear in the final three episodes of "Glee's" fourth season because he was getting treatment. Monteith was found dead in a Vancouver hotel room on Saturday. The Vancouver Police Department says autopsy results will be expedited "due to intense public interest" and that results are expected "in two or three days."
