Jerry Sandusky will spend the rest of his life in prison and in denial.  During sentencing YESTERDAY, THE FORMER ASSISTANT PENN STATE FOOTBALL COACH PROCLAIMED HIS INNOCENCE DURING A LENGTHY RAMBLING STATEMENT.  SANDUSKY WAS GIVEN WHAT WAS CONSIDERED A LENIENT 30- TO 60-YEAR SENTENCE ON 45 COUNTS OF CHILD SEX ABUSE.  HIS LAWYER PLANS TO APPEAL.

SOMEONE CALLED IN A BOGUS HOSTAGE SITUATION IN INDIANA COUNTY.  POLICE FROM THE INDIANA BARRACKS SAY IT HAPPENED ON SEPTEMBER 25TH WHEN THE UNKNOWN CALLER TOLD POLICE THAT A MAN IN BLAIRSVILLE HAD THREE HOSTAGES AND WAS THREATENING TO KILL THEM UNLESS HE RECEIVED $10,000.  POLICE KNEW THE MAN ALLEGEDLY INVOLVED IN THE HOSTAGE SITUATION, BUT CONTACTED HIM AND FOUND HIM AT HOME WITH HIS FAMILY SO THEY QUICKLY DETERMINED IT WAS A HOAX.  THEY’RE ASKING THE PUBLIC’S HELP IN IDENTIFYING THE MAN WHO CALLED IN THE HOAX.

DALE BORO POLICE SAY 24 YEAR OLD NATHANIEL MORRIS OF JOHNSTOWN’S SOLOMON HOMES IS IN THE CAMBRIA COUNTY JAIL AND ANOTHER MAN IS STILL ON THE LOOSE AFTER ROBBING THE FAMILY DOLLAR STORE MONDAY NIGHT.  MORRIS AND THE OTHER SUSPECT, KNOWN ONLY AS “G”, WORE BANDANNAS OVER THEIR FACES WHEN THEY TOLD 2 CLERKS THEY WOULD SHOOT THEM AND BEGAN TO COUNT DOWN FROM 30. THE CLERKS PLACED ALMOST 1-THOUSAND DOLLARS IN A BAG AND THE 2 FLED.   POLICE FOUND MORRIS NEARBY WITH A LOADED 9 MILLIMETER PISTOL.

19 YEAR OLD JEREMY SHARP OF PATTON WAIVED HIS PRELIMINARY HEARING YESTERDAY IN CAMBRIA COUNTY.  POLICE CHARGED HIM WITH FELONY STATUTORY SEXUAL ASSAULT AND AGGRAVATED INDECENT ASSAULT FOR FORCING A 15 YEAR OLD GIRL INTO SEX AND GETTING HER PREGNANT. COPS HAVE NOW ADDED DRUG CHARGES AFTER FINDING PREPSCRIPTION PILLS AND A SMALL BAG OF MARIJUANA AT SHARP’S APARTMENT. HE REMAINS JAILED.

20 YEAR OLD CARL HARRIS OF JOHNSTOWN IS CHARGED WITH AGGRAVATED AND SIMPLE ASSAULT ALONG WITH CHILD ENDANGERMENT FOR PRESSING DOWN ON HIS 8-WEEK OLD SON’S LEG, BREAKING IT, BACK IN AUGUST.  HARRIS WAS HOPING FOR A BAIL REDUCTION WHEN HE APPEARED IN COURT  YESTERDAY, BUT INSTEAD THE JUDGE RAISED BAIL FROM 75-THOUSAND TO 150-THOUSAND DOLLARS WHEN HE HEARD A RECORDED PHONE CONVERSATION IN WHICH HARRIS ASKED HIS GIRLFRIEND TO STEAL MONEY AND CHANGE HER STORY.   ZHE CALL WAS RECORDED WHILE HARRIS WAS IN THE CAMBRIA COUNTY PRISON.

THE NON-JURY TRIAL OF 23 YEAR OLD LEE KEARNS OF JOHNSTOWN BEGINS TODAY BEFORE CAMBRIA COUNTY JUDGE NORM KRUMENACKER.  KEARNS IS ACCUSED OF SEXUALLY ABUSING A 5-YEAR-OLD GIRL TWICE IN THE SPRING OF 2011 AT A HOME IN STONYCREEK TOWNSHIP.  KEARNS DECIDED LAST WEEK THAT HE WANTED THE JUDGE TO DECIDE HIS FATE.

CLEARFIELD COUNTY DISTRICT ATTORNEY WILLIAM SHAW SAYS 31 YEAR OLD CHRISTOPHER REAMS OF GLEN HOPE HAS BEEN CHARGED WITH RAPING AND SEXUALLY ASSAULTING AN 8 YEAR OLD BOY AND A 5 YEAR OLD GIRL BETWEEN MARCH 2010 AND MARCH OF LAST YEAR AT A RESIDENCE IN CHEST TOWNSHIP. REAMS’ PRELIMINARY HEARING IS SCHEDULED TODAY. MEANWHILE, HE’S IN THE COUNTY JAIL ON 200-THOUSAND DOLLARS BAIL.

IN WESTMORELAND COUNTY … BLUNT FORCE TRAUMA IS THE OFFICIAL CAUSE OF DEATH OF A WOMAN AND HER ADULT SON, FOUND LAST WEEK IN THEIR RENTED HOME IN ARNOLD.  POLICE ARE STILL LOOKING FOR A MOTIVE FOR THE DOUBLE HOMICIDE.  FORTY-SIX YEAR OLD BONNIE LEE BROADWATER AND HER 22-YEAR-OLD SON, LANCE, HAD ONLY BEEN IN THEIR THIRD AVENUE HOME A FEW DAYS WHEN THEIR BODIES WERE DISCOVERED.  THERE HAVE BEEN NO ARRESTS IN THE CASE.

A 13-YEAR-OLD OIL CITY BOY IS BEING HELD IN VENANGO COUNTY JAIL AFTER ADMITTING TO KILLING HIS GRANDPARENTS.  ZACHARY PROPER TOLD POLICE HE SHOT GEORGE AND DOROTHY FROSS INSIDE THEIR HOME AFTER AN ARGUMENT.  THE BOY SAID HE USED A BOLT CUTTER TO REMOVE A LOCK FROM A GUN SAFE IN HIS GRANDPARENT'S HOME.  HE FIRST SHOT HIS 67-YEAR-OLD GRANDMOTHER FROM BEHIND, AND THEN FIRED MULTIPLE SHOTS AT HIS GRANDFATHER … WHEN HE RETURNED FROM PICKING UP A PIZZA.

A 76-YEAR-OLD MAN IS LODGED IN BUTLER COUNTY JAIL, ORDERED HELD FOR TRIAL IN THE MURDER OF HIS GRANDSON.  A LAWYER FOR LARRY KARNES SAID THE CONNOQUENESSING MAN TOOK OUT HIS RIFLE TO SCARE THE 19-YEAR-OLD DURING AN ARGUMENT BUT IT ACCIDENTALLY DISCHARGED.  HE SAID A TRIAL WOULD PROVE THAT HIS CLIENT WAS A VICTIM OF ELDER ABUSE.  KARNES IS BEING HELD WITHOUT BAIL.

PENNSYLVANIA AUDITOR GENERAL JACK WAGNER WANTS TO REGULATE TATTOO PARLORS.  TOURING A TATTOO PARLOR IN LAWRENCEVILLE, WAGNER QUESTIONED WHETHER THE STATE'S 750 TATTOO PARLORS PRACTICE COMMON SENSE WHEN IT COMES TO STERILIZING NEEDLES BETWEEN CUSTOMERS.  HE SAID THE PUBLIC IS CONCERNED ABOUT THE POTENTIAL TO SPREAD HEPATITIS C, AND HE WANTS THE STATE TO REQUIRE LICENSING AND CERTIFICATION OF TATTOO ARTISTS.

WITH JUST UNDER A MONTH REMAINING TO ELECTION DAY, A NEW POLL SHOWS MITT ROMNEY AHEAD OF PRESIDENT OBAMA IN ELEVEN KEY SWING STATES.  ACCORDING TO THE LATEST RASMUSSEN REPORTS SURVEY, THE REPUBLICAN CHALLENGER IS LEADING THE PRESIDENT 49 TO 47 PERCENT IN THOSE KEY STATES.  ALL ELEVEN STATES WERE WON BY OBAMA IN THE 2008 ELECTION.  ALL TOLD, THOSE ELEVEN STATES HOLD 146 ELECTORAL COLLEGE VOTES. FORTY-SIX PERCENT OF SWING STATE VOTERS NOW SAY THEY ARE "CERTAIN" THEY WILL VOTE FOR ROMNEY AND WON'T CHANGE THEIR MINDS.  THE SWING STATES INCLUDE COLORADO, FLORIDA, IOWA, MICHIGAN, NEVADA, NEW HAMPSHIRE, NORTH CAROLINA, OHIO, PENNSYLVANIA, VIRGINIA AND WISCONSIN.
