STORMS CAUSE POWER OUTAGES

SOME HEAVY DUTY Storms ROLLED THROUGH OUR AREA LAST NIGHT. IN CAMBRIA COUNTY, A tree crashed into some power lines on Sandy Springs Road near Ashville. It brought down 4 utility poles and closed down that road. It also knocked out power and phone service IN the area. Another tree was down across Route 53 in Gallitzin Township. MORE THan 2-THOUSAND Centre County residents were without power AS WELL WITH A NUMBER OF TREES DOWNED BY THE STORM. Thunderstorms are predicted TOday, but not SEVERE ONES.

Motorcycle driver seriously injured

A 29 YEAR OLD BELLEVILLE MAN SUFFERED MAJOR INJURIES IN A MOTORCYCLE CRASH YESTERDAY MORNING ON PINE GROVE MOUNTAIN IN BARREE TOWNSHIP, HUNTINGDON COUNTY. STATE POLICE SAY THE BIKE AND A CAR SLOWED DOWN AND THAT’S WHEN ANOTHER CAR REAR-ENDED THE FIRST CAR, PUSHING IT INTO THE MOTORCYCLE. THE BIKER WAS THROWN OFF AND WAS AIRLIFTED TO THE HOSPITAL. THE 2 OTHER DRIVERS WERE NOT HURT AND THE CRASH REMAINS UNDER INVESTIGATION. THE ROAD WAS CLOSED FOR OVER 3 HOURS.

THE woman was parking WHEN She MIS-JUDGED A STEEP INCLINE AND LOST CONTROL. 3 people were inside the office at the time AND 2 of them were thrown across the room. THEY all have minor injuries ALONG WITH THE DRIVER. The building SUSTAINED SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE.

FORMER COACH WAIVES HEARING

a former assistant girls soccer coach for the altoona area high school waived her preliminary hearing yesterday. 24 year old kyla hollingshead is facing felony counts of having sexual contact with 2 female students, ages 15 and 16, between october 2010 and this past february. she has resigned and is free on unsecured bond.

The thieves didn't get away with much but they did leave behind some damage INCLUDING BROKEN WINDOWS.
